One-Stop Murdock Guide

This is a community-driven one-for-all guide for Murdock Paragon Hero. You are welcome to update it if you see any aspect of his gameplay is missed.

Overview

Murdock is a Ranger who relies on his basic attacks to deal high single target damage.  He may shoot slower than other Rangers but he hits like a truck. Murdock's abilities offer different types of utility and allow him to lane safely.

His Static Trap helps to secure key pathways or control an area.  Buckshot deals damage in a cone and can be used to push objectives.

Murdock's Shielding Shot helps to mitigate damage and what is more important to knock enemies back.

Murdock is also one of that Heroes with a long ranged Ultimate. His  Devastating Blast is not as long as Muriel's Reversal of Fortune can be but it can hit from one lane to another ignoring any obstacles.

Passive - Hot Pursuit

  - Buckshot

A short range shot in a cone. Good tool to clean waves and to make enemy more vulnerable to Murdock's attacks (or any allies' attacks based on energy damage).

Using Buckshot should be done with caution since it has a short range and Murdock should avoid close combat

  - Static Trap

Murdock's backdoor preventing tool. Should be positioned on narrow areas to prevent enemies from jumping in quickly. In very rare cases can be placed during a team fight behind the enemy to prevent their retreat.

Put Traps in advance in key narrow points of the map.

  - Devastating Blast

The longest damage dealing ability in Paragon so far.

Sustain Build

Shielding shot is prioritized over traps for more sustain and CC.

Murdock's Autoattack Speed Deck Build

This build gonna make you a Machine-Gun Murdock firing at rate of 1.6 shots per second. Note that initial fire rate is ~ 0.71 shots per second. But you will pay for this by a very late crit chance.

  1. 3CP - Potions + ward/key
  2. 15CP - Agoran Scepter + Cast upgrade cards for 9CP (3x Major Cast)
  3. 24CP - Sell ward/key and add Energy damage card (any) + Cast upgrade cards for 7CP (2x Cast + Major Cast)
  4. 36CP - Merciless + Cinetic upgrades for 9CP (3x Major Kinetic). = ~1.4 shots/s
  5. 45CP - Madstone Gem + 5CP to Kinetic upgrade and 2CP into Cast = = ~1.4 shots/s
  6. 60CP - Sell Mana Potion and Riftmagus Scepter + 13CP for upgrades for Crit Chance (Wound)

Tips and Tricks with Murdock

WIP - use Ult on retreating heavily damaged enemies.

With Kallari in team specially due to her passive.

Heroes Synergy

WIP - describe Heroes compositions with analysis. 

The only problem I have with is, is that people have the ability to change what you write. So, either a troll or someone who doesn't like you has the option to edit your hard work. Idk if I wanna take the time to write out a guide if it could all be erased. :(

@SmokeyJay, go ahead and try :) I do mean it.

@SmokeyJay, to add to that. The whole idea is in the fact that a regular user is not able to overwrite anything without an approval from moderator (like you for example). Moderator has an ability to diff any version with any so that even some slightest changes are tracked. So there is even no sense in wasting time for trolling as it won't go anywhere except moderator who just removes that "harmful" version and that's it.
