Match Making
Hey Broseph_Blaze here. I really enjoy this game however matching continues to need a lot of work. The Draft is great and since the implementation of the draft the games have been more evenly matched. However, with the new influx of people coming to the game from free to play PlayStation Plus this week. Solo queue is no longer fun. All of my games have seem to be heavy lopsided one way or the other.
I have a significant amount of time on this game (over 600 hrs). And this week, I have grouped with people less than 20, and even brand new people with less than 5 hrs of game play. I know I am an outlier with length of okay time. But j see on fury.gg they try to match on average game play.
Please change matching to include player level, or make tiers of players into the ranking system. It's practically unplayable in solo que.
@Broseph_Blaze, I'm sure it is a temporary issue caused by a significant increase of player base with unknown skill. It takes some time to identify skill and perform MM properly. This is a pretty much expected outcome.
BTW you can contact official Paragon support here and describe the issue.
BTW here is how this question is officially answered
So frankly Pysko, there's no spin. There are hundreds of thousands of matches each week. Our data has indicated that matches and match fairness are largely working as intended, however it's not perfect and we've acknowledged that. We're also working to improve the state of matchmaking on a day-to-day basis.
Matchmaking itself is a tough one to crack, as a player that plays a lot of different competitive titles, I think it can go without saying that people generally have a wide array of skills despite the Rank provided by a game. We're human beings after all, which means that on any given day you can play the absolute best or worst games and it can influence the outcome of a match...regardless of rank.
The new player pool is currently in affect and we're monitoring data, but attempting to use third-party websites as a source of information can be misleading for you and for others. As an example, in some cases PS4 accounts aren't properly tracked on those sites, or linked accounts after a player has created an Epic ID misses data. Using third-party services as your primary tool of information shouldn't be a credible source for in-game match indicators. It's not to say that every time it's the case, but I just want to be clear about trying to point out third party sites.
From a statistical analysis standpoint, on the forums, we receive anywhere from approximately 3% - .002% of game feedback relative to the total population playing the game on a given day. We regularly send out additional surveys to quantify the game and matchmaking experience to see if the changes we've made are having a positive impact based on the data we receive.
Hope that provides some clarity. And again, we understand geting paired with players that don't meet your expectations is frustrating. We'll continue to try and make sure our matchmaking system tries to put the absolute best players it can into your game at the time that you're searching for a match. Some of those players may already be in a game, could be building decks, opening packs, chatting with friends, or the MMR band has expanded and it pulls in players from the higher or lower MMR ranges because you (or they) have been searching longer than desired.
We'll get there, but rest assured our data indicates that match pools based on MMR is performing well.
Edit: I also want to add that our current design thinking around Ranked will have much stricter rules for play which will likely add more relevance around player expectation and performance in matches.

Thanks for your quick response and posting.
I understand the game is in the early process and I have faith it will continue to improve as it has over the last couple months. I'm looking forward to the ranking implementation and hopefully an in game voice chat, so more experienced players can help help new players in game.
I agree 3rd party tools may not be 100% accurate of tracking stats. Though, I'm not sure how a level 50 player is ranked with a player ranked less than level 10 or 5 within the games MMR. I understand widening the MMR to reduce wait time. However, waiting an extra 5 min would be worth it when investing 30 to 50 min in a game.
Having some type of alternative/supplemental tier system may help with this issue.
