Broken...
First I'd like to say that I truly love this game. I love watching it develop. I truly understand that this is a work in progress, but the current matchmaking system sucks ass.
I love the drafting system. My issue is with being constantly teamed up with people who haveno clue. I always expense the most effort, setting up harvests, collecting them and my map awareness. But no matter what I do I'm surrounded by scrubs. people who feed, people who don't collect harvests, don't come when needed, avoid helping in team situations. Please please create a ranked system. separate the extremely new people from ruining my game experience.
@Spartan, Epic folks say they are moving towards ranked. Though no dates announced so far. To add to that, I do not see how ranked system could help here. Players are grouped based on some internal factors called MMR. So IMHO the highest priority now is balancing the match making system and not implementing a new game type.
As for being surrounded by scrubs. Have you tried making a pre-made group with one or two players who are close to your level? This could help to mitigate the issue in a short-term.
George yes. My issue is that I don't always have time to wait around for a group and want to jump into game to play before work. After work before dinner. Whatever the case maybe, that shouldn't be an issue. Just lost AGAIN because guy went afk. I'm not a teenager who can waste time all day waiting for groups.
@Spartan, I know that feeling. What I actually did and keep doing is adding to my friends list all the folks I play with that are confirmed as close to my level. Who is interested in playing together and who I'm interested to play with. After some time I have a big enough list of ppl to have one or two guys available any time I want to play.
Thanks George. I appreciate your feedback. I'm doing that and still don't enjoy getting put on teams that are truly lost. If there was a ranked play that is part of the game I could play more competitively without the concern of newbs ruining my experience. I really don't know how much longer I can deal with this. If this isn't addressed I'm sad to say I may put this game on the shelf.
@Spartan, When I think like this I'm taking a break. In the end this is a game. Means it has to give fun and not frustration.
In the same time I know that folks @Epic knows about the issues and working in different directions to address this. They have no choice. In general it's business and the game has to be successful. So I'm sure they will figure out a way how to improve.
Meanwhile I can do some other stuff. E.g. polishing some guidelines here in this website. Or trying out new decks (even with bots)
